CHARLES J. CLARK
Sr. Vice Commander
Charles Clark has been a Life member of the Disabled American Veterans, Department of Maryland, Francis Mc Lhinney, Chapter 15 since 2006. Mr. Clark has served his chapter of the DAV in various offices since joining. Currently he has served as Commander since 2012, and lead his chapter to be a strong organization in the veteran community within Harford County. Also he is currently the 2015 -2016 4th Junior Vice Commander for the Department of Maryland.
He has been married to his wife Paula since 1981, and have 4 children and 10 grandchildren.
He was a member of the United States Army from 1969-1976, and reached the rank of Sergeant E-5, served in Viet Nam from 1969-1971 as an Artillery, Radio Telephone Operator (RTO) for the Forward Observer (FO) calling in support fire. The rest of his time in the Army he operated motor pools as a Motor Sergeant for Artillery and Engineering Units.
After serving in the US Army, Mr. Clark went to work for Chrysler Defense Corporation/ General Dynamics Land Systems Division(GDLSD), in 1977, in the Research, Engineering, Development, Testing Laboratory, building the Abrams Tank, from the experiential versions thru the Abrams M1A2 series, as well as other defense contracts, until 1995. While working at GDLSD Mr. Clark was assigned to the 1st Armor Division as an embedded Technical Representative during 1990-1991 Operation Desert Storm/Desert Shield to provide support for the Abrams Armored Tank Battalion’s.
Mr. Clark created and operated a successful startup manufacturing business for 10 years, then went on to currently work for the Department of Army as a Certified Life Cycle Management Professional, Supply Systems Analyst.
Mr. Clark has been active working with veteran organizations for many years, supporting the needs of all veterans, since departing Active duty in any way he can.
